On the race track the EV-smile: eRod was tested on the race track in Steisslingen (D)
"Particularly impressive is the perception of acceleration and speed, so low down only slightly above the ground, just pure roadster driving, without ifs or buts."
Kurt Hug
If you feel like enjoying and experiencing the latest uncompromising electromobility against the backdrop of bizarre volcanic cones, you don't have to travel to Naples or Sicily. You'll find what you're looking for at Singen, just behind the northern Swiss border, right on your doorstep.
I am talking about Hegau, the landscape northwest of Lake Constance. There, in Steisslingen, is the most modern driving dynamics centre in Germany, between extinct volcanic cones, so to speak, where the eRod can be extensively tested to its limits on a special runway and without endangering other road users.
Region with a history of technology
How exactly this cooperation between KYBURZ and Testcenter came about is beyond my knowledge. It is known, however, that the entire area around Lake Constance has always been an important location for the automotive industry and continues to be so.
Famous witnesses of mobility (Maybach, Zeppelin, Dornier, Saurer, Mowag) have their origin here and today the region is strongly influenced by leading global suppliers (ZF, +GF+). And ZF was co-founded by the inventor of the precise gearwheel, engineer Maag from Berg am Irchel. That's why the eRod will also feel very comfortable in this region.
Friendly, competent personnel
For all those who go to Steisslingen to experience the eRod, I guarantee an exciting day without having to take a risk for too many promises. This already starts with the journey through this uniquely beautiful area and continues in the test center itself. Modern facilities welcome you and you are greeted by friendly and competent staff.
The enthusiasm for the eRod can be read from their eyes. After a short briefing they quickly get down to business and, paradoxically, they immediately appreciate what they would miss in a modern vehicle. Of course I'm talking about the lack of any assistance systems - you won't find them in eRod. If silence is for you inseparably connected with electromobility, you will be disappointed already after the first round.
