The KYBURZ MultiLife concept significantly improves the ecological footprint
The MultiLife concept is a principle that permeates the entire company, which allows to significantly improve the ecological footprint across the entire service and product line.
The environmental life cycle assessment of KYBURZ MultiLife products is optimized through a holistic approach. The vehicles and their key components are designed on the basis of intelligent design principles and smart use of raw materials and technologies so that they can be refurbished and do not need to be disposed of after the first life cycle.
This way, smart product design and the long lifecycle reduce the gray energy of the vehicles and key components by 65% and conserve resources.
KYBURZ manufactures zero-emission electric vehicles for the last mile of delivery. The vehicles are used nationally and internationally in large fleets of up to several thousand units and are also used by industry, municipalities and private individuals. KYBURZ ensures the operation of the fleets by setting up an appropriate infrastructure in the customer's country. The in-house Fleet Management Software helps to organize the operations and plan the maintenance. At the end of the life cycle, KYBURZ buys back the used vehicles.
KYBURZ is the only vehicle manufacturer that turns used 1stLife vehicles into fully refurbished 2ndLife vehicles again at the end of their first life cycle. This is only possible if the vehicles are intelligently constructed from the start and the raw materials are correctly selected and combined. The vehicles are now ready for a second life in heavy duty use. The service life is doubled and the gray energy is cut in half. This allows 1stLife and 2ndLife customers to "share" their gray energy footprint, resulting in a favorable eco-balance for customers.
After two lives in a delivery vehicle, lithium-ion batteries are usually no longer suitable for use in vehicles. However, they are still too good to recycle and are ideally suited for stationary and mobile energy storage. The stationary energy storage units are used in real estate of all kinds (e.g. solar storage). The mobile energy storage units are used in industry. These 3rdLife products extend the life span of the battery once again and thus reduce the gray energy of the products a third time and optimize their eco-balance.
The KYBURZ process for the environmentally friendly direct recovery of pure raw materials from used lithium-ion batteries is revolutionary and has the potential to shake up the industry. The process is simple and environmentally and energy friendly. KYBURZ is currently the only company that has mastered such a process.
At the end of life, the LFP battery is broken down directly into its raw materials in the company's own battery recycling plant - without the use of chemicals. With this process, the recovery of raw materials is 91 percent of the original materials. The recovered raw materials flow back into the cycle and are used for the production of new batteries in the future.
