Photo of the week: Raclette for lunch
The weather is foggy and cold. For the employees of the KYBURZ IT and infrastructure team, this is the perfect season for a cosy raclette lunch. The oven is available for everyone to use, and there is also a fondue pot...
Another classic goes to Eritrea
In December 2024, KYBURZ reported on the donation of a Classic to Eritrea. Despite the complex transport, it later became clear how valuable the vehicle is for the recipient with limited mobility. As another person with limited mobility lives in the same village, Urs Egli and Alem Gebreslasie submitted another request to KYBURZ. Alem is very keen to help this person, even though they are not a family member this time.
Steffen Krause, representing the office team, was delighted to hand over another Classic for export to Eritrea. The vehicle, including six spare tyres, was collected last week. KYBURZ looks forward to reporting on the arrival of the Classic in Eritrea in the coming weeks.
Bern Racing Team visits KYBURZ
Every year, they build a new racing car and compete against international teams in Formula Student. Students at Bern University of Applied Sciences in Biel put their knowledge into practice as the Bern Racing Team (BRT).
A delegation visited KYBURZ and presented the team, their approach and their results. A lively exchange with the developers at KYBURZ during lunch and the tour in Embrach strengthened the relationship.
While KYBURZ develops vehicles for long-term use and series production, the BRT clearly focuses on performance. In the competitive environment of Formula Student, every kilogramme of mass and every kilogramme of downforce counts.
KYBURZ has been supporting BRT for years. This commitment is repeatedly demonstrated in practical terms through networks and contacts. In their bachelor's and master's theses, students have already developed solutions to problems that there was no time to address internally. The eRod was also largely the result of such work. Former BRT members work in the development department.
KYBURZ is delighted with the exchange, looks forward to the unveiling of this year's racing car and wishes the team every success in 2026.
Delivery Tech Special Podcast with Erik Wilhelm
Erik Wilhelm was recently a guest on The Postal Hub – Delivery Tech Special podcast, where he spoke about the KYBURZ project on bidirectional charging in delivery operations. The interview provided a good opportunity to highlight the added value that such concepts can bring in terms of energy efficiency, grid integration and fleet operation. At the same time, it was also possible to discuss our customers' positive experiences with DXC vehicles and the exchange box.
This positioned KYBURZ as a practical technology partner in an international industry environment.

Career choice course Embrachertal
Last week, the career choice course for students in the Embrachertal valley took place. This gave students the opportunity to visit various companies for two taster mornings.
Sinan Shabani, practical trainer in the service workshop, welcomed three students on each of the two mornings, showed them around the business and explained the most important processes to them. Afterwards, they went to the service workshop, where the young people were allowed to dismantle a vehicle themselves. After the dismantling, Sinan explained the inner workings of KYBURZ vehicles in a clear and concise manner.
The career choice course is a valuable guide for young people in their future career choices.
KYBURZ research team ice climbing
The KYBURZ research team recently took a break from their everyday routine and headed out into the wintry Tössscheidi. Ice climbing was on the agenda for their joint team-building event.
A total of three routes with increasing levels of difficulty were tackled. The focus was less on athletic performance and more on mutual support, trust and shared experience. Team spirit was in full force, both on the safety rope and on the ice wall.
In the end, one thing stood out above all else: lots of exercise, lots of laughter – and lots of fun for everyone involved.
