A Day in the Life of Mark Venturi
Kaito: How long have you been at KYBURZ Pty Ltd?
Mark: I have been at KYBURZ Pty Ltd since March 2022.
Kaito: What is your role?
Mark: My main role is to process, pack and ship all webshop orders from our service partners across Australia.
Kaito: What made you decide to take on this role at KYBURZ, and how does it differ from your previous jobs?
Mark: Proximity to home was a big factor, but more important to me was the opportunity to work in a growing and innovative industry. I've been in the warehouse space for about 20 years, but this position is distinctive in that it involves a lot more administrative work, which adds a new dimension to my experience.
Kaito: What task in your week do you find most exciting and why is it so special for you?
Mark: It's not a specific task, but I enjoy the team dynamic we have here. Everyone gets along well and we also have similar interests outside of work.
Kaito: Can you tell us something about your personal passion or hobby that you think contributes to your work life?
Mark: I am passionate about four-wheel driving and photography. Both hobbies require quick thinking and creativity. These are skills that come in handy when unexpected challenges arise at work. These hobbies keep me on my toes.
Kaito: What do you think is the main difference between workplace or everyday culture in Australia and Switzerland, as far as you know or have heard?
Mark: I don't know much about Swiss work culture, but an important difference in Australia is how much distance and time affect our logistics. International shipments take longer to reach us, and even within Australia, shipments can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks due to our long distances.
Kaito: Which Australian dish would you recommend for a Swiss person who wants to experience Australian cuisine?
Mark: Well, the obvious answer would be Vegemite! However, we have so many fresh and high-quality products here that there is a wide range of great food options.
Kaito: Which area within the company do you think has great potential for growth or improvement in the future?
Mark: The DXP vehicles are incredibly versatile and I think there is potential to expand their use to different industries.
Kaito: Which vehicle in our range do you like the most and why?
Mark: I would love to test the eRod off-road on some of our tracks here in the outback.
