Sharing experiences on the circular economy – Kyburz right in the middle
At the invitation of swisscleantech and CEO4Climate, a group of managers from small and medium-sized companies got together recently to chat about circular business models. The event took place in the inspiring surroundings of Google Switzerland.
The focus was on concrete examples of how companies are successfully moving towards a circular economy – and thereby strengthening their competitiveness. Martin Kyburz was there to present battery recycling at KYBURZ and show how the recycling of raw materials is not only ecologically sensible, but also economically smart. Establishing direct relationships with manufacturers who are interested in high-quality recycled materials thus becomes an advantage.
Another impressive example was that of Renato Vögeli, whose printing company is certified according to the ‘cradle to cradle’ principle. Thanks to this consistently sustainable approach, he now wins 80 to 90% of his customers – in a market that is otherwise in decline.
Another impetus came from Pouyan Dardashti, managing director of the Thommen Group, who emphasised that many customers today are specifically looking for partners who can support them in achieving their net-zero goals. Companies that lead the way here are creating new opportunities for themselves.
