KYBURZ Switzerland AG supports the "SMARGO" pilot project
SMARGO (Shared Micro Cargo) is a pilot project initiated by the TCS Mobility Academy in cooperation with the cities of Bern, Basel and Lausanne. It is a sharing offer in which electrically powered vans can be rented by the hour. The service is aimed at both businesses and households. It is suitable for transporting bulky goods, such as large purchases, for bulky waste disposal and for delivering customer orders.
KYBURZ Switzerland AG was one of the first vehicle suppliers and was allowed to place one KYBURZ DXS 5.0 at each of the three locations. Other vehicle suppliers include Robert Aebi Landtechnik AG, Rikscha Taxi Schweiz AG and the Swiss eMobility association.
The pilot project started with a festive launch event: in Lausanne on 21 May 2021, in Bern on 27 May and in Basel on 28 May 2021. Even local politicians and representatives of mobility and sustainability organisations did not miss this event. They addressed the constant increase in traffic in the cities and the associated challenges and were convinced that they had found a suitable solution with the sharing service for electrically powered vans. And as a final highlight, the vehicles could be tested right away.
The vehicles can be booked via the website www.carvelo2go.ch or the app of the same name. The rental price is made up of a booking fee of CHF 5 and an hourly rate of between CHF 3 and CHF 3.50. The vehicles are available from 10 pm to 8 am. The hourly rate is waived from 10 pm to 8 am. Use requires a category B driving licence (passenger car).
