A day in the life of Oliver Fierz
Rina Suka: How long have you been with KYBURZ?
Oliver Fierz: I've been with KYBURZ Switzerland AG since 1 September 2023, so almost 7 months.
Rina: How did you hear about us?
Oliver: I had known about KYBURZ Switzerland AG for a long time, either through my neighbours' senior citizens' vehicles or through Flurin, with whom I completed my apprenticeship as an automation technician at MSW in Winterthur.
Rina: What did you do before KYBURZ?
Oliver: I worked at Gallus in St.Gallen, which manufactures printing machines, for almost 7 years. I was responsible for international and national aftersales, training, troubleshooting, helpdesk, coordination and, among other things, for the market opening.
Rina: What are your activities?
Oliver: I currently manage the service office, plan international and national training courses, optimise processes and coordinate and work on various projects.
Rina: What are your strengths?
Oliver: My strengths lie in my open and constructive personality and attitude, whether with customers, partners or our team.
Rina: What motivates you?
Oliver: I am motivated by our KYBURZ electric vehicles, the team and the task of finding the best solution for our customers and for KYBURZ. I am also motivated by the fact that I have already gained a lot of experience in service.
Rina: What is your typical daily routine?
Oliver: I usually start my morning between 7.30 and 8.00 am. The first thing I do is get an overview of my emails and organise and prioritise them accordingly. Phone calls with our customers and service partners are one of my everyday tasks. I organise projects and other things, have meetings and take care of partners, specific visits or correspondence. Between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., I usually deal with any pending matters that I haven't managed to complete during the day - without being on the phone.
Rina: What do you like? What do you like less?
Oliver: I like the teamwork between all the departments in the company, as they are very constructive and positive and work in the same way. What I don't like so much is the accessibility of Freienstein by public transport. But that will change as soon as we move to our new company headquarters in Embrach.
Rina: What do you like to do in your free time?
Oliver: In my free time, I spend a lot of time in the mountains in winter, skiing, snowboarding and ice-skating. In summer, on the other hand, I like to play beach volleyball, go kitesurfing or go travelling in my old camper van.
Rina: What are your plans for the future?
Oliver: I would like to continue to familiarise myself more intensively with the KYBURZ company so that I can support the team increasingly better. I then plan to specialise in the management of the service area. This includes supporting and gradually taking over Flurin's tasks with the aim of taking over the management of the service area in the future.
