«The KYBURZ DXS motivates my employees.»
With his 22 employees, Albert ‹Berti› Kreienbühl, Head of the Central District of the Street Care Authority, keeps central areas of the city of Lucerne in good shape. The diversified vehicle fleet ranges from cleaning machines to different sized vans, small tractors, single-axle vehicles and scooters to hand carts. It is the base for speedy and efficient work. Since the end of 2018, the KYBURZ DXS with trailer is also part of the transport equipment.
Equipped with a broom, shovel and tongs, the DXS travels quickly through the city for hand cleaning. A lot of time and manpower can be saved on tours that used to be done with a handcart. «Today, the employees can no longer imagine working with a handcart» says Luca Fuschetto, District Manager South of the Street Care Authority. For him, too, the electric vehicle is a relief: «I can set priorities when scheduling work at short notice, because the DXS is one of the most flexible vehicles in the fleet.»
The many different tasks require not only serious planning but also a high degree of local independence. With the KYBURZ DXS, employees can reach any destination in the district in a short time. Urgent tasks such as the removal of an animal corpse or the cleaning of a defaced traffic sign can be flexibly taken over by an employee.
Equipment and materials for cleaning streets, paths, fountains or benches are always carried along. Seasonally, leaf blowers, trimmers or a small lawn mower are added. The trailer offers enough space for transporting the collected cuttings of small jobs.
In winter maintenance - in addition to checking bridges - narrow paths and stairs scattered throughout the city are targeted with the DXS, cleaned by hand and strewn with salt. Snow clearing of the major roads is covered by heavy equipment.
The cleaning of the vehicles and the small parking service are done at the decentralised bases. Maintenance and repairs are done by the central workshop of the Road Department, whose employees have been specifically trained by KYBURZ.
‹Berti› Kreienbühl enjoys driving the KYBURZ DXS himself and mentions casually a point he noticed: «The KYBURZ DXS motivates my staff!»
