Full satisfaction in the 75 district: thanks to KYBURZ DXS a cleaner city Winterthur
"The KYBURZ DXS is the official vehicle of my choice."
The orange-coloured KYBURZ DXS is Werner Morf's (57) "company car": he empties the 85 or waste bins three times a week in the extensive area, on the other days he is on the road for cleaning operations. He covers around 35 kilometres a day, 350 to 400 kilometres a month. In the evening, when I return home, the battery is still half full. Morf also only has to empty the matching large KYBURZ trailer three times a day - for elevenses, lunch and dinner.
Ideal for independent work
Franz Rochat came across the KYBURZ DXS through a workshop employee who discovered a DXS in municipal use and brought it into conversation. The road master investigated the matter, suggested the electric vehicle and finally it was procured.
"He was simply convincing and perfectly suited the specific needs in our area", he says, "In this case it also has to do with the fact that Werner Morf is always alone and independent in his work". But since I often have to drive on the sidewalk, the DXS is much more practical just because of its dimensions. And it's more agile anyway."
But the DXS is also more ergonomic, adds its boss, road master Rochat: "The sitting position is much lower on a single-axle vehicle, the frequent getting in and out is more difficult. With the DXS, on the other hand, you can "get in" standing up. The fact that Morfs DXS is limited to 30 km/h also makes his work easier: he can travel without a helmet - which makes a lot of sense, otherwise he would have to put it on and take it off all the time.
On the road in all weathers
Nevertheless, Morf does not lack speed: "On the sidewalk I drive slowly anyway - because of the pedestrians, prams, dogs." In the neighbourhood, people would hardly have reacted to the new, orange electric vehicle, Morf remembers: "And if they did, it was positive - for example, that they couldn't hear me anymore.
That was also a warning to him that he had to be all the more careful. Morf is completely satisfied - he would only wish for a wind and weather protection screen, because he is on the road all year round and in all weathers. And the loading edge of the trailer could be a bit lower: "It's a bit high for bulging, heavy trash cans". Nevertheless: "I wouldn't give up my KYBURZ DXS," says Morf with a smile.
I am interested in a DX2.
