Autonomous last-mile people mover
The PLUS2 Autonomous is designed to assist mobility providers to serve their customers last-mile needs by replacing heavy, expensive to operate busses on low-utilization routes with on-demand, flexible, all-electric, and, best of all, driverless vehicles. The transit customers may schedule a pick-up or spontaneously hail a ride from the PLUS2 Autonomous to reach a train station, and the vehicle will drive itself to the pick-up point. While occupied by a passenger, the PLUS2 Autonomous is 100% controlled by the human driver. Only during the rebalancing trips is the PLUS2 Autonomous a self-driving vehicle, which reduces system complexity to a simple, slow-speed machine. We welcome all lead customers to test this unique and powerfully featured vehicle!
User Interaction at the forefront
Our design of the PLUS2 Autonomous began with the question: what do our users most care about when riding in a smart vehicle? Based on extensive research and customer interactions, we decided that an interface which clearly declared what the vehicle’s state and intentions were would serve our riders best. A solution was developed with a virtual windscreen which warns riders of impending dangerous situations far in advance and illustrates where points of interest are in 3D, among other trailblazing features. When traveling in autonomous mode, the remote fleet operator receives clear indications of the vehicles intentions and can optimally support smooth rebalancing operations.
Advanced safety systems
The primary autonomy features are not active while carrying a passenger, but the powerful sensors and safety algorithms are still working at full capacity to protect the occupant from harm while in the PLUS2 Autonomous. Our customers come from all age demographics, and profit equally from industry-leading sensors which are fused to provide clear guidance about possible hazards during human driven trips. For example, if a set of redundant sensors detect that a collision is impending, a warning will be triggered, and if the driver does not react on time, the vehicle will automatically be brought to a safe stop.
