A day in the life of Rania Smailji
Kaito: How long have you been at KYBURZ?
Rania: I have been at KYBURZ since 12 August 2024.
Kaito: What are your responsibilities?
Rania: I started my commercial apprenticeship in the summer and I'm currently working in-house. My tasks include processing opinion survey questionnaires that we receive from customers after they have bought a vehicle from us. Every morning, I take care of incoming mail, enter addresses and send out our brochures.
A central part of my job is also the complete processing of orders. This includes recording the orders, redeeming/cancelling vehicle registration documents at the road traffic office and sending the corresponding invoices. In the future, I will also answer incoming calls from our customers and forward them accordingly.
Kaito: What motivated you to work at KYBURZ? And how does this job differ from your experiences in other internships?
Rania: I am particularly motivated to work at KYBURZ because I appreciate the team spirit here and I see the opportunity to get to know different areas of the company during my apprenticeship as a valuable experience. I can also use my language skills in a targeted way, as we work with customers from all over Switzerland as well as with international customers. I am particularly enthusiastic about the innovative vehicles from KYBURZ, and I would like to learn more about their development and realisation in the near future.
Compared to other taster placements, KYBURZ offered a wider range of tasks and opportunities.
Kaito: What task did you find most interesting during your week and why did it stand out for you?
Rania: I found sending out the opinion survey questionnaires and processing the returns the most interesting. I liked it because it gave me a direct insight into our customers' opinions.
Kaito: Is there a school subject that you particularly enjoy or are good at?
Rania: I'm good at learning languages quickly and that's why I particularly like English and French at school and get good grades in them.
Kaito: Is there a department you are particularly looking forward to getting to know and seeing how it works? What interests you most about it, and what knowledge would you like to contribute to the team?
Rania: I am particularly looking forward to getting to know the purchasing department, as I have always been fascinated by the organisation and planning of procurement processes. I would like to use my language skills and structured approach to provide the team with the best possible support. I am convinced that the role of a purchaser is fundamentally different from that of an office worker and that it will give me valuable new perspectives and skills.
Kaito: Is there a goal you definitely want to achieve in the next few years?
Rania: My goal is to pass my driving test and complete my apprenticeship with very good grades.
Kaito: Which KYBURZ three-/four-wheeler stands out for you in particular, and what do you like about it?
Rania: I am particularly impressed by the DXS and the DX2. Their attractive design, easy handling and impressive speed of up to 45 km/h make them a real pleasure to ride.
