Environmental arena in Spreitenbach is worth a visit
In the environmental arena in Spreitenbach, visitors are given a vivid visualisation of the raw materials required for the products used in everyday life and what ultimately happens to them when they have served their time.
The number of raw materials required for a 200 kg lithium battery is illustrated very clearly. While cars today are mainly shredded, i.e. chopped up into small parts, and then some raw materials are recovered using complex processes, the vehicles we produce are broken down into their individual parts again using the cradle-to-cradle process developed by Prof Dr Michael Braungart and then reused.
The battery recycling process invented by our Olivier Groux, in which over 91% of all raw materials used can be reused, will also be presented to an astonished audience in Spreitenbach. Max Chopart-Acklin was instrumental in setting up the environmental arena.
