A day in the life of Rolf Menzi
Erza Mehmeti: How long have you been with KYBURZ?
Rolf Menzi: I have been with KYBURZ since January 2014.
Erza: What are your activities?
Rolf: I work in development. I started with the development of the eTrolley and in the past 2 to 3 years I have seamlessly added the development of the ePedelec. Parallel to this is the eTrolley troubleshooting and the further development of the eTrolley. With the ePedelec, it's a mixture of new development, further development, building up the small series and testing.
Erza: What is your typical daily routine?
Rolf: My daily routine starts early in bed, where I first have to make the difficult decision of whether to go to work by e-bike or electric car. According to my choice of transport, I thus start work between 08:00 and 08:30. Depending on the availability of our project leader in the ePedelec team (Hans-Peter Erni), I consult with him first or process the e-mails first and answer those that are most urgent. Since my open tasks around the ePedelec and the eTrolley are getting more and more instead of less, my closing time is always between 6 and 7 pm.
Erza: What do you like? What do you like less?
Rolf: In principle, I am very happy to be able to work here at KYBURZ and to help make mobility more environmentally friendly on a broad basis. In particular, I am pleased to be active in the ePedelec team with so many motivated and open-minded employees.
What I like less is that I have lost direct contact with many of the development staff because they had to move to Embrach.
Erza: What do you like to do in your free time?
Rolf: In my free time I like to look after our 2-year-old grandson with my wife. I also do a lot of sport, which includes: e-biking, jogging, swimming, hiking, racing bikes and inline skating. But I also like to laze around, where I often switch from active to passive sports and let my sports idols sweat for me on the TV. Currently, I have picked up an additional hobby by "qualifying" for the Circular Economy Challenge.
