A day in the life of Flurin Vicentini
Erza Mehmeti: How long have you been with KYBURZ?
Flurin Vicentini: I have been a permanent employee for 11 years. The first time I was here was 17 years ago. I worked as a temp in production for one month every summer.
Erza Mehmeti: What was your career like at KYBURZ?
During my time as a temp and at the very beginning of my permanent employment, I did pre-assembly for the production. That's when Fadil and Isuf taught me what it means to work.
Later, I was a service mechanic for a few years and did a lot of repairs on site with the customers. Then I changed from service mechanic to service office and service partner training. Finally, I moved from service to development, where I was able to work on various development projects.
In 2015, I was able to take over the management of the development department and build up the development team as we have it today. In parallel to the development management, I took over the management of the eRod department as a "side job" in 2019.
In March 2020, I swapped my job as development manager for the job as general manager in the service department, which also made me a member of the company's management team.
Erza: What are your activities?
Flurin: As Managing Director of the Service Department, I am responsible for further development and problem solving in the department. I also have to make sure that we have our budget figures (expenses and income) under control. I do the same with the eRod department. Wherever the team is stuck or blocked, I try to support them to find a solution.
On the side, I work together with the Pachi team on the further development of Pachi.
Erza: What is your typical daily routine?
Flurin: I start my work at around 8.00 am. Usually ¾ of my day is already planned with appointments (e.g. alignment meetings for projects or with different teams). In between, I try to answer my emails or someone spontaneously comes by with a task that we then solve together. From 6 p.m. onwards, I usually devote myself to my emails again and work on them. I usually finish work between 7 and 8 pm.
Erza: What do you like? What do you like less?
Flurin: I particularly like the company philosophy and the products we make. All the different vehicles we have - mobility is fun. I also really like the cooperation among the employees. I like the people I work with.
What I like less are the 3 locations we have.
Erza: What do you like to do in your free time?
Flurin: In my free time, I'm interested in everything that has wheels - from motorbikes to go-karts. I like to tinker with my car or motorbike or do things with my friends.
Erza: Where do you tinker with your vehicles?
Flurin: Together with colleagues we have a small workshop in Oberembrach, and I also tinker with my bike here in the workshop from time to time.
