A day in the life of Sambrina Rodero

Erza Mehmeti: How long have you been with KYBURZ?

Sambrina Rodero: I have been with KYBURZ for over 2 years. I had my first day of work on 01.04.2019. This is/was not an April Fool's joke.

Erza: What are your activities?

Sambrina: I mainly work as a designer (50%). I make minor changes or improvements to our production vehicles in CAD. What is a bit unusual in my job is that we also work on prototypes and then we have to be a bit mechanically talented ourselves.

Erza: What is your typical daily routine?

Sambrina: Most of the time, my day starts at the PC. I start working on my drawings where I left off yesterday. In between, I check my emails to see if there are any changes in what I'm working on or if something super important comes up and I have to interrupt my normal work for a while. Sometimes I'm also in the production hall and like to listen to where the concerns are on our production vehicles. I might be able to contribute some improvements. So my day is also very varied.

Erza: What do you like? What not so much?

Sambrina: I like a lot of things. I like the exchange day we have every year because you can get a taste of other departments. Unfortunately, this has hardly been possible lately because of Corona. I also like the variety that you have here. KYBURZ never sleeps. There are always changes. I also find the collegiality among each other very good, as we are all on a first-name basis. Everyone is also very helpful, especially with the mechanical part, as I'm not that skilled there yet.

What I don't like so much is that every now and then a project has to go very quickly and mistakes happen because of the rushing.

Erza: What do you like to do in your free time?

Sambrina: I spend most of my free time with my two children and my husband. Every now and then we take a long weekend and go on a short trip together. Now that the kids are in puberty, I finally have some time for myself and like to do group fitness (kick power and piloxing). I also like to bake and try out new recipes all the time, and I've been going motorcycling ever since I was little.
