A day in the life of Daniel Schär
Erza Mehmeti: How long have you been with KYBURZ?
Daniel Schär: I have been with KYBURZ for 5 years.
Erza: How did you hear about us?
Daniel: I had known about KYBURZ for a long time through the DXPs of the Swiss Post and I was very pleased when a job as an electronics developer was advertised.
Erza: What did you do before KYBURZ?
Daniel: I was at Brusa, where we developed parts of the power electronics for the Porsche Taycan.
Erza: What are your activities?
Daniel: I develop electronics that are used in our vehicles. I am also group leader of the electronics competence centre.
Erza: What are your strengths?
Daniel: I am good at building a model of a technical system in my head, which is very helpful for development or troubleshooting.
Erza: What motivates you?
Daniel: To do something meaningful for me.
Erza: What is your typical daily routine?
Daniel: First I work on the mails and then I develop, take measurements, look for solutions to technical problems that are brought to me and prioritise tasks.
Erza: What do you like? What do you like less?
Daniel: I like that I can think up solutions, draw them into an electronic schematic and layout, and then after a few more intermediate steps I can actually see them working in vehicles. Moreover, I even see these vehicles in my everyday life.
It could be less technical problems that are brought to me. I mean problems that have already been solved or could be solved independently.
Erza: What do you like to do in your free time?
Daniel: I like to build, ride and repair bicycles, make fires in the forest and go on excursions with my family.
Erza: What are your plans for the future?
Daniel: I want to contribute to making our vehicles and electronics even better.
