A day in the life of Philipp Stoll
Erza Mehmeti: How long have you been with KYBURZ?
Philipp Stoll: I have been with KYBURZ since 01 May 2022.
Erza: How did you hear about us?
Philipp: Through a job advertisement in a mail from a job portal.
Erza: What did you do before KYBURZ?
Philipp: I was on the production management staff at Stadler Rail in Bussnang, where I was responsible for digital optimisation projects in production.
Erza: What are your activities?
Philipp: Currently, there are some issues to work on due to my role as technical contact for Australia. In the future, I hope to successfully complete some exciting projects with the new development team.
Erza: What are your strengths?
Philipp: I have a good grasp of things, work goal-oriented and don't give up easily. I think my honesty can also be seen as a strength.
Erza: What motivates you?
Philipp: I am motivated when I have an activity whose meaning and purpose I can see and whose output I can grasp. Both are given at KYBURZ: We develop sustainable vehicles that you not only see in use every day in Switzerland, but that you can also test drive yourself. It is also a great motivator for me when I realise that I am working in a team where everyone is pulling in the same direction and supporting each other. That is also the case at KYBURZ.
Erza: What is your typical daily routine?
Philipp: Actually, only the first part of the day is typical: I start my work around 7.00 a.m. with a coffee. First I check my emails, then I prioritise the tasks for the day and prepare for any meetings. And then - depending on the situation in the field - my activities can suddenly go in different directions. But that makes it exciting.
Erza: What do you like? What not so much?
Philipp: What I like most is the open and warm company culture. As a new employee, I was welcomed with open arms. I also like the closeness to the product and the freedom you have to make your own decisions.
One critical point from my point of view is that we are sometimes a little lazy about documentation and prefer to devote ourselves to practical work instead. That can quickly catch up with you.
Erza: What do you like to do in your free time?
Philipp: In my free time I spend as much time as possible with my wife and our two boys. In general, I like to be outdoors and in the mountains. Hiking in summer, snowboarding in winter. I also enjoy travelling, including with our roof tent. And when we are not on the road, we enjoy our garden... or work there...
Erza: What are your plans for the future?
Philipp: After only 5 months in the company, there is still a lot for me to learn. And then I hope that I can help in many exciting development projects to maintain the innovative character of the KYBURZ company. In my private life, a lot has happened in the past few years with children and a house. Now we have to enjoy that in peace.
