A day in the life of Mario Fischer
Erza Mehmeti: How long have you been with KYBURZ?
Mario Fischer: I have been with KYBURZ since August 2018.
Erza: How did you hear about us?
Mario: I was allowed to do my master's thesis for Erik Wilhelm's autonomous project. That's how I got to know the company.
Erza: What did you do before KYBURZ?
Mario: I originally trained as an electrician and then studied electrical engineering at the ZHAW. During my studies I worked part-time as a scientific assistant.
Erza: What are your activities?
Mario: Currently I work in the Fleet team in support and engineering. My activities here are very versatile and varied. They range from technical project management to development work in the hardware or software area to installations and training at internal or external customers.
Erza: What are your strengths?
Mario: I think you could count as a strength that I work in a structured and solution-oriented way. I also always try to put myself in the shoes of a customer of our product in order to better understand their needs or problems.
Erza: What motivates you?
Mario: I am motivated when I can fully stand behind a product or a work. Therefore, I always try to understand the meaning and benefit behind a job, even if it is beyond my field of activity.
Erza: What is your typical daily routine?
Mario: I usually start work around half past seven. Once in the office, I check my mails as well as our fleet support tool to see if there are any urgent requests. After that, each day looks different depending on the current projects. However, I always try to make small work packages, which can be worked through one by one.
Erza: What do you like to do in your free time?
Mario: I like to spend my free time with friends and family. I like to be out in nature, biking or hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. Recently, "Roxy", a young dog lady who can be found in the Fleet office 2 to 3 days a week, joined the family. She still has a lot to learn and that takes a lot of time and patience.
