A day in the life of Vladislav Fedorenko
Erza Mehmeti: How long have you been with KYBURZ?
Vladislav Fedorenko: I have only been with KYBURZ since 7 February.
Erza: How did you hear about us?
Vladislav: I became aware of KYBURZ through my wife, who also works here. KYBURZ also helped us with our move to Switzerland and our first steps here.
Erza: So you only recently moved to Switzerland?
Vladislav: Yes, exactly. We moved from Russia to Switzerland because my wife, Polina Fedorenko, was offered a job at KYBURZ. We came here by plane from Kazakhstan when we got our visas.
Erza: What languages do you speak?
Vladislav: I speak Russian, English and a little German.
Erza: What did you do before KYBURZ?
Vladislav: Before that I worked as a software developer at Raiffeisenbank in Russia.
Erza: What are your activities?
Vladislav: I am a backend developer. One of my tasks is to maintain the existing functionality and also write a new one. I am currently working on post-processing reports for Zurich Airport.
Erza: What are your strengths?
Vladislav: I always try to understand how exactly the tool, software etc. I work with works.
Erza: What motivates you?
Vladislav: The desire for knowledge and my wife.
Erza: What is your typical daily routine?
Vladislav: When I get up in the morning, I go straight to work after breakfast. First I check my emails and then I start working on the tasks. At 9.30 a.m. we have a daily meeting with the team, where we exchange information about our current task and about any difficulties in order to come to solutions as quickly as possible. Afterwards, I return to my open tasks. Afterwards, I attend the German course. In the evening I work and do my German course homework.
Erza: What do you like? What do you like less?
Vladislav: I like my department because it is a small but friendly team. What I like about the company is the idea and the people.
Erza: What do you like to do in your free time?
Vladislav: In my free time I like snowboarding, driving and cycling, which of course depends on the season and the possibilities. I also like to read books and articles, go hiking or meet up with my friends.
Erza: What are your plans for the future?
Vladislav: My future plans are to learn German, to continue working and to travel.
