A day in the life of Alexander Beckmann
Rina Suka: How long have you been with KYBURZ?
Alexander Beckmann: I have been with KYBURZ since 1 September 2021.
Rina: How did you become aware of us?
Alexander: Because I didn't want to accept my pension, I came to KYBURZ through Pro Infirmis.
Rina: What did you do before KYBURZ?
Alexander: I was a truck driver at Mökah in Henggart.
Rina: What are your tasks?
Alexander: I am in pre-assembly for the KYBURZ Plus and for other vehicles if needed.
Rina: What are your strengths?
Alexander: I have a lot of experience in mechanics and electrical engineering. Another strength is my technical understanding.
Rina: What motivates you?
Alexander: The responsible tasks of pre-assembly and helping out with the assembly of the Plus and upgrading other vehicles. The variety makes up for it.
I especially appreciate the teamwork with the employees on site and the collegiality of the entire company.
Rina: What is your typical daily routine?
Alexander: I get up at 4.45 a.m. and start the day at a leisurely pace. Around 6.40 a.m. I go to the company to do my tasks. I finish work around 4 p.m. and enjoy the rest of the day at home with my wife and three cats and a good coffee. Maybe I do some tinkering or building or watch TV.
Rina: What do you like? What do you like less?
Alexander: I like the fact that I can combine my hobbies and work, share my own experiences with colleagues and still learn something new.
What I like less is the current economic situation. Difficult sales due to inflation in the country.
Rina: What do you like to do in your free time?
Alexander: I enjoy working in the basement with the lathe, putting together CNC equipment, 3D printing, lasering, working with soapstones and often making rings, such as stainless steel (lathe) combined with wood or synthetic resin with other materials. I also enjoy making knives and repairing knives. My favourite thing to make is something with wood.
Rina: What are your plans for the future?
Alexander: To finish all the things that are still on my mind. Staying healthy is especially important to me.
