A day in the life of Franz Daxinger
Rina Suka: How long have you been with KYBURZ?
Franz Daxinger: I have been a permanent employee in the research department at KYBURZ Switzerland AG for almost six months.
Rina: How did you hear about us?
Franz: I did a 6-month internship in the research department at KYBURZ 3 years ago, so I knew the company well. I liked the work so much back then that I wanted to work here again after my studies.
Rina: What did you do before KYBURZ?
Franz: I spent 4.5 years at ETH and completed a Master's degree in robotics. After that, I spent two months travelling in Southeast Asia with my girlfriend.
Rina: What are your activities?
Franz: My activities depend on our current projects. In the research department, we work on self-driving vehicles, but we are also involved in many internal company projects such as the eRod 3. I look after software, the integration of sensors, the construction of prototypes and the collation of data.
Rina: What are your strengths?
Franz: My strength lies in my logical way of thinking and finding solutions to a problem. I also take a structured approach to tasks, which helps me a lot in realising these solutions.
Rina: What motivates you?
Franz: Being up close and personal with the development of new technology every day motivates me. I also get to work on very exciting projects and can look forward to great results.
Rina: What is your typical daily routine like?
Franz: My daily routine is varied and it always depends on which project or task needs to be completed. Accordingly, there is no typical daily routine for me.
Rina: What do you like? What do you like less?
Franz: I like our team and the exciting projects that we carry out.
Rina: What do you like to do in your free time?
Franz: In my free time, I play bass in the band Lutz! Together we have about 20 gigs a year. I also enjoy skiing, swimming and attending concerts and events myself.
Rina: What are your plans for the future?
Franz: I currently feel very comfortable with KYBURZ and I'm excited about all the projects we're tackling this year.
