Daily on the road with the KYBURZ PLUS II
"I need the vehicle almost every day," says 89-year-old Max Schmidt. The KYBURZ PLUS II has been his everyday vehicle for a good year. It is never too late for him to make changes: he has been a house-husband for 1.5 years. "I used to be the outdoorsman and often in the workshop" he looks back. Today he takes care of himself and his wife, who needs his help for health reasons, does the shopping, and cooks: "I even really like doing that"!
Safely on the road
When he no longer felt safe driving a car after 60 years of experience, Max Schmidt searched the internet for alternatives and studied the various offers carefully. On a test drive day in Biberist, he drove the PLUS II for the first time. "It's different from a car", he recalls, "but it's very easy"! On his trips, he always has his mobile phone with him for safety and has had a service done at KYBURZ after the first year of operation. This extends the KYBURZ ASSISTANCE by one year.
Moulds for plastic injection moulding
The fact that Max Schmidt chose a Swiss-made KYBURZ vehicle is no coincidence. At the age of over 50, he started his own business as an entrepreneur. Starting out in the basement of his home, he produced accurate punching tools and precise moulds for plastic injection moulding, which are used to make parts for coffee machines, among other things. Tools and screwdrivers from SWISS TOOLS are also produced with moulds from Schmidt's company, which is now run by his son. So it is quite possible that last year's Christmas present to all KYBURZ employees, a pocket tool with integrated bit magazine, was produced with the help of a mould from Schmidt Werkzeugbau GmbH.
Journey into eternity
Until he was 75 years old, Max Schmidt could be met daily in the shop, which is now run in its own building. After a serious illness, he took it easier. With his "KYBU", as he calls his vehicle, he also regularly goes for walks in the forest. He knows the area around his home in Wolfwil (SO), where he was also involved in various local administation. He also visits the small hamlet of "Ewigkeit" near Fulenbach, where he grew up, time and again.
KYBURZ wishes Max Schmidt as always "Safe travels"!
